Eurovision 2021 Estonia profile: 'The Lucky One' by Uku Suviste

Estonia at Eurovision

Estonia debuted at Eurovision back in 1994, but unfortunately for the Baltic nation they finished 2nd last, and so were relegated for the1995 contest.

Things improved rapidly for Estonia, and they even won the contest in 2001, with Tanel Padar, Dave Benton & 2XL and their song ‘Everybody’.

The last decade has seen a 60% qualification record, and they’ll be hoping to build on the 20th place they earned last time around in Tel Aviv.

About the song

'The Lucky One' was written by Uku himself alongside Sharon Vaughn. Eurovision fans may recognise Sharon’s name because she also worked on Uku’s 2020 song 'What Love Is' and has written countless other Eurovision songs, including 'Waterline' in 2011, 'Scream' in 2019 and 'Superg!rl' in 2020.
