About the artist

23-year-old Victoria Georgieva, professionally known as VICTORIA, was born in Varna in Bulgaria.

She started out in the music scene by participating in the fourth season of ‘X Factor Bulgaria’ in 2015, where she made it through to the live finals before finishing in sixth place. And she had some tough competition in the season, as she was up against another burgeoning Eurovision star in Kristian Kostov.

VICTORIA’s debut EP was released in February this year, and featured five songs that all had the potential to represent Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

She was internally chosen for Eurovision 2020 with her song ‘Tears Getting Sober’, and was internally selected again for the 2021 contest.

About the song

‘Growing Up Is Getting Old’ is written by Victoria Georgieva, Maya Nalani, Helena Larsson, and Oliver Björkvall, and is produced by Oliver Björkvall.

About the song, VICTORIA said:

“You can grow as a person in many different ways. Sometimes going back to your roots helps you to find your purpose on Earth.”
