Last month the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) released the eight songs competing for the right to represent Denmark at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May. Next weekend Denmark will run their annual national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.
This year sees the return of Danish 2025 Eurovision Song Contest representative Sissal along with Søren Torpegaard Lund who competed in DGMP with Lige her in 2023 and DGMP 2020 runner up Sander Sanchez who sang Screens.
Bookies have Sissal with Infinity as the odds-on favourite to book their ticket for Vienna. Sissal was the favourite in 2025 also.
Eight Aussievision team members have listened to all eight 2026 songs and scored them 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3.
So who topped the rankings? Let’s reveal the full results and our favourite DMGP 2026 entry.
Results:
8. Emil Otto - Copenhagen Noir– 32 points.
Highs: 6 points from Tim.
Lows: 3 points from Fleur, Kyriakos and Paul.
7. Lasse Skriver - Roaring Heart – 41 points.
Highs: 8 points from Tim; 7 points from Dale.
Lows: 4 points from Paul and Craig; 3 points from John Christian.
6. Late Runner - Can U Feel It? – 48 points.
Highs: 8 points from Fleur, John Christian and Dale.
Lows: 4 points from Tim; 3 points from Craig.
5. Sander Sanchez - Two Spirits – 52 points.
Highs: 10 points from Kyriakos and John Christian.
Lows: 4 points from Fleur; 3 points from Tim.
"This song SUPER catchy, very familiar sounding, but I can easily see Denmark send this to Vienna. I hope the staging has lots of choreo and high energy to match the song." ~ Kyriakos
"I have nothing to say anything about this entry except for the fact that it could end up being the dark horse candidate. The song, the vibe, the energy, it may play an advantage for this." ~ John Christian
"Great pop song with a tonne of personal meaning to him – and it shines through. A great self-declaration of his identity and his unapologetic way of being himself. Excellent instrumentation and vocals throughout the song. And, if staged well, could really be a modern-day Eurovision anthem for self-acceptance." ~ Paul
4. Myrkur - Touch My Love And Die – 59 points.
Highs: 12 points from Tim, Fleur and Paul.
Lows: 4 points from Kyriakos; 3 points from Dale and Joel.
"This song hits you from the start. It’s immediately electric guitars sets the tone and then it just slows down enough to keep you on edge. It just has a very epic sound to it that is engaging and mysterious. Admittedly, it doesn’t seem to go very far from safety but it’s engaging. It’s a risk for Denmark, given how similar it sounds to Norway 2024, but it could be a good risk to stand out more." ~ Tim
"I admit that it's a little messy but it is not the usual shade of vanilla that we're accustomed to seeing at DMGP. It could work and it wouldn't be lost in a Eurovision semi final line up." ~ Fleur
"Moody, dark, and melodic. This song straddles between the mellow folk tunes and the black metal songs she’s famous for. A genuinely engaging song that gives the drama and darkness that is so needed in the competition. There is so much beauty in this dark song that it gives me chills." ~ Paul
3. Søren Torpegaard Lund - Før vi går hjem – 64 points.
Highs: 12 points from Craig; 10 points from Fleur and Paul.
Lows: 6 points from John Christian and Dale.
"I loved Soren's first DMGP attempt a couple of years ago. This is going for a different, slightly more mainstream audience - but by god it's catchy, and I have no doubt there's going to be a strong live performance behind it. This is cool and, much as I love Sissal, should be the song that Denmark sends this year - I think it can give them a qualification streak!" ~ Craig
"It's nice to see Søren back. It's also nice to hear the Danish language. I prefer this song to his 2023 entry. This song really stands out in this year's line up." ~ Fleur
"The only fully Danish-language song in this year’s DMGP, this is pure pop-perfection. This is reminiscent of Silvester Belt’s Luktelk in its moodiness, in its pop-dance beats, and in its smooth vocals. However, while it might take a few listens, this song is more sweeping in its epic nature that Luktelk ever was. This has potential and should be given the love that it deserves." ~ Paul
2. Ericka Jane - Death Of Me – 69 points.
Highs: 12 points from Kyriakos and Dale; 10 points from Joel and Craig.
Lows: 6 points from Fleur; 5 points from John Christian.
"I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS!! The song is catchy, high energy, slightly sassy, it's giving me Rina Sawayama vibes to the max. Would love to see the Danes send this to Eurovision!!!!" ~ Kyriakos
"I am OBSESSED with this song. It is Scandi pop schlager brilliance. It's simple and won't win any songwriting awards but it is everything I love. Will listen to this non-stop even after it probably finishes 5th in this national final." ~ Dale
"OMG I love this song! Definitely got a Chappell Roan meets Ina Wroldsen vibe. I feel kinda basic for enjoying it so much, but it’s honestly the most instantly catchy and memorable tune to come out of DMGP in ages." ~ Joel
"Serving Andra Chansen realness, this is camp as tits and I hope they amp it up to 100 on the stage. Big fan favourite vibes (not unlike Sissal last year) if Ericka knocks it out of the park live." ~ Craig
"A spooky start to a thumping pop-dance beat – this harkens back to the Eurodance classics that Denmark was serving in the late 90s/early 00s. This is unapologetically camp and suggestive, and, if staged right, could actually take the win. I could hear this being sung loudly and carelessly at Euroclub and/or at any Eurovision-related event." ~ Paul
1. Sissal - Infinity – 75 points.
Highs: 12 points from John Christian and Joel; 10 points from Tim and Dale.
Lows: 7 points from Fleur.
"There have been rarer cases where a contestant competes in Eurovision consecutively, and I might think Sissal might do it and take her revenge for that very low placing last year. The televoters will absolutely landslide her way to, maybe a Top 10 finish for Denmark in the Grand Final." ~ John Christian
"This is definitely a more polished song than last year’s Hallucination. I love this evolution for Sissal, Infinity feels confident and fully-realised. This will be sure to attract both jury and public votes." ~ Joel
"The fact that I was looking at my comment about Hallucination from last year and honestly thought that I could just copy and paste it probably tells you all you need to know it still is interchangeable. I think this has a bit more to it in terms of a melody and a darker tone. This reminds me more of a Loreen track than a generic scandipop- Euro club banger. In terms of the contest, yeah it’s probably the best safest option of the bunch. A slight risk but probably finishing in the same position as last year." ~ Tim
"Sissal has come back with something that feels like a part 2 to Hallucination but it's still an evolution, not a copy. Some heavy Loreen vibes but I dont't care - I eat this Euro dance pop every day of the week." ~ Dale
"Miss Congeniality Mother is back – with an entry that is just as epic (in its lyrics and its melody) as Hallucination from last year. Although we know that Sissal can sing, this song doesn’t capture the camp-classic territory that Hallucination took us to. This is a serious anthemic call-to-action that takes a few listens to fully understand its greatness." ~ Paul
"Unfortunately, this doesn't hit quite as hard as "Hallucination" did for me. It feels like they saw how we all went crazy for the "HEYAYEAHAYEAAAAAAH" bit at the end of Hallucination and tried to build a song around Sissal doing that over and over. Still a fun little pop song, though, and I will not complain about getting more from Sissal, who is a delight." ~ Craig
So yet again the Aussievision team has chosen Faroese songbird Sissal as their favourite as we did in 2025. Can she go back-to-back at DGMP?
