Dami Im is set to perform at the ‘Cabin Fever Festival’, which is a month-long celebration of homegrown Queensland talent, at The Triffid in Newstead, Brisbane.
The festival kickstarts the live music scene in Queensland after Covid-19 essentially shut down the live music entertainment industry across Australia.
The ‘Cabin Fever Festival’ starts on July 10 and runs through to August, with free and ticketed events.
Dami Im will take the stage in a ticketed event on July 24. The remaining artist line up over the month includes Powderfinger’s lead vocalist Bernard Fanning, Australian country musician Troy Cassar-Daley and Canadian singer-songwriter Jeff Martin from the The Tea Party amongst many others.
The organisers have released the following on the ‘Cabin Fever Festival’:
“In a series of cabaret seated events, The Triffid will celebrate the rebirth of Queensland’s live music scene in a month-long program in the leafy Triffid garden. To compliment the amazing talent showcased; production and staging are being heavily upgraded to ensure the experience far outweighs a live stream.
What the last three months has proved, is that nothing comes close to seeing an artist live, in the flesh, performing in an intimate setting. With the calibre of artists being programmed, these performances are one off and potentially some of the most memorable shows you will ever see at The Triffid.
2020 has seen all manner of hardship come our way, which has greatly affected the Brisbane music community at large during these unprecedented and crazy times. To their credit; tens of thousands rallied around to contribute to Fire Benefits, positive social rallies and to continue the ethos that music and arts in Queensland are a collaborative initiative.”
Dami Im announced the news about her show on her Facebook page:
“You better believe I'm thrilled to be going BACK OUT playing as part of this incredible line up at The Triffid.”
Lucky for Eurovision fans and the Dami Army she managed to delight us over the last few months with her Sunday Sessions and her ‘Eurovision ISO Party’ during the time of self isolation and social distancing.
Dami Im wowed us all with her performances of her well known singles to covers of Eurovision songs from ‘Heroes’ by her good friend and Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw and ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ by Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst.
Due to restrictions The Triffid will be abiding by all current Covid regulations, hence there are very limited tickets available and they are selling quickly. There are currently only tables for 6 and 10 people left for Dami Im’s show. Click here for tickets.
