Czech Republic: Česká televize reveal seven participants and songs for ESCZ 2022

The Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) have revealed the seven participants and their songs that are set to compete in 'ESCZ 2022' for a chance to represent the Czech Republic at Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Italy.

The seven artists and their songs for 'ESCZ 2022' were revealed today and they are (in order they were announced):

Annabelle - 'Runnin' Out of F* Time'

Elis Mraz - 'Imma Be'

Jordan Haj & Emma Smetana - 'By Now'

Giudi - 'Jezinky'

Skywalker - 'Way Down'

The Valentines - 'Stay or Go'

We Are Domi - 'Lights Off'

More to come on the artists...

Just like last time 'ESCZ 2022' is an online selection with digital voting opening the day after the song releases. Voting to select their Eurovision entrant will start on December 7 until December 15. The winner is set to be announced on December 16.

There will be an opportunity to vote through the official Eurovision app and online here. Voting is free and open to all worldwide.

Different to last time though the selected artists have presented a live on tape performance, instead of a music video. The performances we made in the Czech Television studios.

The winning artist will be determined by 50% international jury, 25% international public vote, and 25% Czech public voting.

It is the fifth time that the Czech Republic has used a national selection process to find their Eurovision participant. In 2020 Benny Cristo won 'ESCZ' with 'Kemama', but unfortunately the 2020 Contest was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. Benny was then internally selected to represent the Czech Republic with 'Omaga' in Rotterdam for Eurovision 2021. Unfortunately he missed the Grand Final, being placed in semi-final 2.
