Croatia: 18 artists revealed for 'Dora 2023'



The Croatian broadcaster, Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT), has revealed 18 artists and songs that will be competing in their Eurovision national selection show, 'Dora 2023', for a chance to go to Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.


196 submissions were made with a nine-member professional jury helping select 18 artists and songs to compete in 'Dora 2023'. They are:

  • Damir Kedžo - 'Angels and Demons'

  • Meri Andraković - 'Bye Bye Blonde'

  • Martha May - 'Distance'

  • Tajana Belina - 'Dom'

  • Đana - 'Free Falin''

  • Grijeh - Boris Štok - 'Grijeh'

  • Maja Grgić - 'I Still Live'

  • Patricia Gasparini - 'I Will Wait'

  • Krešo I Kisele Kiše - 'Kme Kme'

  • Eni Jurišić - 'Kreni Dalje'

  • The Splitters - 'Lost and Found'

  • Yogi - 'Love At First Sight'

  • Let 3 - 'Mama Šč!'

  • Detour - 'Master Blaster'

  • Hana Mašić - 'Nesreća'

  • Harmonija Disonance - 'Nevera (Lei,Lei)'

  • Barbara Munjas - 'Putem Snova'

  • Top of the Pops ft. Mario 5reković - 'Putovanje'

In the event that any of the eighteen participants withdraw, the back-up participants are:

  • Lana Mandarić Lanchi - 'Sama'

  • Mirna Škrgati - 'Odlazi'

  • Voice For You - 'On The Same Train'

  • Rosanna Kumerle - 'Talking To Me'

Damir Kedžo


Damir Kedžo previously won Dora in 2020 with his entry 'Divlji vjetre'. He was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from five regional juries and a public televote. Damir unfortunately didn't make it to the Eurovision stage in Rotterdam as the Contest was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. Damir will now get the opportunity to hopefully make it to Eurovision if he can win Dora for the second time.




Tajana Belina


Tajana is a semifinalist from The Voice Croatia (The Voice Hrvatska). She competed in season two back in 2016 and was coached by Ivan Dečak, lead vocalist from the Croatian band Vatra.

When she is not singing she works as a marketing manager.



Eni Jurišić


Eni Jurišić rose to prominence in 2016 also competing on The Voice Croatia. She was coached by Indira Levak, the lead vocalist of the Croatian dance music trio, Colonia.


Eni is most known for her collaboration with Croatian singer Vjekoslav Kljućarić on the song 'Prije nego nestane'. The pair then formed a relationship. She has since released several music singles.




Yogi


Yogi is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer who has shared the stage and recorded with some of the biggest artists in the world! He has worked and collaborated with Chris Cornell, Melissa Etheridge, Cat Stevens, Alanis Morissette, Shakira, DJ Zedd, Richard Marx, Kid Rock, Natasha Bedingfield, Anastacia and Meredith Brooks.



Yogi has also toured as a support act for shows with huge bands and artists like The Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS, Lenny Kravitz, Linkin Park and Korn.


The talented singer was born and raised in California to a Croatian father and a Peruvian mother. Yogi now lives in the Croatian capital Zagreb with his wife and daughter.


Barbara Munjas


Barbara Munjas is no stranger to Dora, having competed back in 2007 as a last minute addition. Her entry was a rock pop number called 'Ti si tu'. She competed in semi-final 2 where she was knocked out finishing in 12th place.


After Dora she became a member of the band Gustafi, in which she remained until the end of 2012. She later established her own music group called "Babari" releasing several albums.




It is also worth mentioning that there are a lot of bands competing this year form various genres of music, they include Krešo I Kisele Kiše, The Splitters, Let 3, Detour and Top Of The Pops.


The final of Dora 2023 is being held on February 11.


Croatia made their debut at Eurovision back in 1993. They competed in 27 Contests and made the Grand Final 18 times. Their best placed entries finished in 4th place, 'Sveta ljubav' by Maja Blagdan in 1996 and 'Marija Magdalena' Doris Dragović in 1999. The last time Croatia made it to the Eurovision Grand Final was in Kyiv 2017 with Jacques Houdek's entry 'My Friend'.
