Belgium's Eurovision 2026 artist Essyla fangirls over Delta Goodrem!

Essyla was recently interviewed by Chris and Willem from Welsh Eurovision fan site ESC Cymru, where she couldn’t hide her excitement about Australia’s entrant Delta Goodrem.

Willem asked Essyla about her favourite songs from this year’s Eurovision lineup, and she quickly named Delta as one of her top picks.

“I am a big fan of Delta! Aww, Delta! I’ve loved her since The Voice — I love her song.”

Chris then pointed out that she may get the chance to meet Delta in person, to which Essyla replied:

“I hope I don’t collapse when I see her!”

Essyla also revealed that Delta recently followed her on Instagram.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, the queen is following me!’”

It’s no surprise Essyla is familiar with Delta’s time on The Voice, as she was a contestant on the Belgian version of the show herself.

In 2020 she competed on The Voice Belgique (Season 9), where she performed under her real name, Alice. Coached by Typh Barrow, she made it all the way to the grand final, finishing as runner-up to Jérémie Makiese, (Eurovision 2022).

Meanwhile, Delta served as a coach on The Voice Australia from 2012 to 2013 and again from 2015 to 2020.

The two artists also share similar musical inspirations, including Celine Dion and Olivia Newton-John — both of whom competed at Eurovision, with Celine winning the Contest in 1988.

Essyla will represent Belgium in Vienna with her dark pop track Dancing on the Ice. She is set to perform in the second half of semi-final 1 on 12 May 2026.
