Austria has learned the position it will perform in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 Grand Final, with Cosmó set to close the show with Tanzschein.

A special draw was conducted at the annual Head of Delegation meeting held in Vienna overnight, where the host nation’s position is randomly selected rather than decided by producers.

Austria drew 25th position with the help of the Eurovision 2026 official mascot, Auri.

As host of Eurovision 2026, Austria automatically qualifies for the Grand Final. The final running order for all other nations will be revealed in the hours following the completion of semi final 2 on Thursday 14 May.

The host nation closing the show is a rare feat in the modern era of Eurovision.

Prior to Mae Muller performing last for the United Kingdom in 2023 when the nation hosted for Ukraine, we have to look right back to 2001 when Denmark closed the show hosting in Copenhagen.

Austria will compete in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2026 on Saturday 16 May.
