Australian artists of the Eurovision national finals season 2024

As we embark on another exciting Eurovision national season, Australians are once again making waves.

It's not just about the Eurovision 2024 representative from Down Under, the anticipation is high as we await Australia's chosen entrant. We also have Cyprus' representative, Silia Kapsis, hailing from Sydney.

However, our focus goes beyond the home turf. We look at the Aussies who are participating in the multiple Eurovision national finals across Europe who are competing to step onto the Eurovision stage to represent countries other than Australia.

Last year we witnessed the likes of Sydney's Alfie Arcuri in San Marino's national final and Perth-born Kiana, who graced the stage at Sweden's renowned Melodifestivalen.

As the Eurovision national season unfolds, let's explore the talented Aussies making their mark on the international stage.

Isabella Kearney

Isabella Kearney is an accomplished singer/songwriter who has written songs for Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and The Veronicas, just to name a few. She is currently based in Nashville.

The Sydney-born Irish-raised talent has already had some Eurovision connections. Isabella has co-written two songs for 'Eurovision - Australia Decides', the Australian Eurovision national final. In 2019 she co-wrote 'This Is Not the End' for Mark Vincent. The powerful ballad suited Mark's huge vocals. His performance got him a 7th place finish. Then in 2020 she co-wrote the inspirational song 'Together'. It was performed by Australia's Got Talent star Mitch Tambo for Australia Decides 2020. Mitch's indigenous-influenced entry earned him a 5th place finish.

Now in 2024 Isabella has been selected for the Irish national final Eurosong with the bop, 'Let Me Be The Fire'. In an interview with RTÉ Isabella said that her song was about "helping someone - a friend, lover or family member- go through a difficult time. It’s about saying, 'Hey, I have you. Lean on me’.

Eurosong will take place on January 26 (January 27 in Australia) during a special edition of The Late Late Show, broadcast on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

Mileo

Mileo is a Norwegian-Australian singer, songwriter who will compete in Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2024 with the song 'You’re Mine'.

The young talent was born in Sydney, Australia. His father was born in Oslo, Norway and his mother is from Sydney, Australia. He grew up between Oslo and Sydney. Mileo got into music from a very young age and would go on to attend a music school where he was taught classical and pop music.

In 2013, Mileo signed with Sony Music Entertainment and released his debut single 'Echo' the following year. He has released several singles since.

This year Mileo was announced in the lineup to compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2024 with his self penned track, 'You're Mine'. He is set to participate in the second semi-final which will take place on January 20 (January 21 in Australia).

As the national finals continue we will keep adding the Aussies who are competing. Check back for more.
