4. Alexis Cunningham - 'Working On A Miracle' (West Virginia)

28 points

High: 12 points from Mike, 8 points from Emma

Low: 0 points from Laura

"A pleasant and solid pop song in the style of Carly Rae Jepsen. It doesn’t break any new ground, but it just had enough quality to sneak ahead of some others." ~ Mike

3. Savannah Keyes - 'Sad Girl' (Utah)

31 points

High: 10 points from Dale, 8 points from Mike

Low: 1 point from Laura

2. Stela Cole - 'DIY' (Georgia)

42 points

High: 12 points from Laura and Dale, 10 points from Emma

Low: 2 points from Hugo

"'DIY' reminds me of all the bombastic pop songs I grew up with in the early 2000s (Joss Stone's pop career, anyone?!). It has a real sense of nostalgia for me and definitely stands out among this week's lineup. I'm looking forward to seeing this empowering girlboss breakup anthem on stage at the American Song Contest!" ~ Laura

1. The Crystal Method - 'Watch Me Now' (Nevada)

52 points

Highs: 12 points from Emma and Hugo, 10 points from Mike and Laura, 8 points from Dale

"Wow...this song starts at 100 and the energy just doesn't drop! This will go off live - it really does keep you entertained for the full three minutes and the visuals from the snippet video look spectacular. Known for their EDM tracks this has a bit of a rockier feel with some heavy drum beats. It probably won't be the jury winner but should appeal to the public, particularly fans of the group and those looking for something a bit out of the box." ~ Emma

"Just the only song from this week which stands out as anything other than pleasant forgettable pop. I like the rock part of this song but it is also quite melodic. Love the instrumental at the end - reminds me of Voyager’s ‘Dreamer’ in the best possible way. I don’t see this winning the jury vote, but some normal enough staging and this will certainly stand out to the public." ~ Hugo

So 90's electronic act The Crystal Method is our winner with 52 points - in fact each of our jurors had 'Watch Me Now' placed in their top three! Stela Cole from Georgia finished in second place with 42 points with Savannah Keyes rounding out the top three with 31 points. Both songs were the only others to receive points from all five of our jurors so it appears there are three clear favourites here. As always, it will all come down to the live vocal and staging on the night - anything could happen in the race to earn one of the four qualifying positions from this week's heat!
