"ABBA-mania" is back! 40 years since the band split, the Swedish Eurovision winning artists, ABBA, have returned and hit the streaming and download charts with their two new songs from their upcoming new album 'Voyage'.

The band have managed to please their diehard fans while at the same time appealing to a younger audience who are more or less familiar with their back catalogue of huge hits , from their Eurovision 1974 winning entry, 'Waterloo', to dance floor bangers like 'Dancing Queen' and 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)', both of which have also made appearances on the streaming charts this week.

In an article by The Guardian it was revealed that straight after the release of the two new songs, 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don't Shut me Down' both reached the first and third place on YouTube’s trending rankings in 12 countries on September 3.

In the United Kingdom 'I Still Have Faith In You' gained 4.4 million views on YouTube and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' with 1.4 million views within 24 hours.

So far on TikTok 'I Still Have Faith In You' has been used in nearly 10 thousand videos and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' in 3,500 videos. The Swedish band's three most popular songs on the social media platform are currently 'Mamma Mia' with 70.2k videos, followed by 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)' with 17.8k videos and 'Dancing Queen' which has featured in 14.4k videos.

On iTunes ABBA have hit the No.1 spot with both 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' peaking at the top in the United Kingdom and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' peaking at No.1 in Australia and Germany.

Impressively ABBA have also made a huge impact on the Spotify streaming charts. As of September 6, 'I Still Have Faith In You' has accumulated 4.7 million streams and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' being the more popular of the two songs with over 5 million streams worldwide.

In their native Sweden both new songs hit No. 1 on the Spotify Daily Top 200 chart and 'Don’t Shut Me Down' peaked at No. 1 in Finland. Overall the band reached the top 50 on the Spotify Daily Top 200 chart in over a dozen countries.

The release of Drake's new album 'Certified Lover Boy', released on September 3, has prevented ABBA from reaching the heights they would otherwise have as the songs from 'Certified Lover Boy' have dominated the top 20 in many countries including in Australia.

You can check out the peak positions of both new ABBA songs that have made an appearance on the Spotify and several iTunes charts as of September 4 2021:
