Bilal wins big in Destination Eurovision Semi Final

The first semi final of Destination Eurovision is complete and there was a very big winner.

Bilal Hassani with his song 'Roi' (Translation: King) won both the international jury and the French televote to finish on 115 points.

In second place was Chimene Badi with "La Haut' on 66 points. She finished outside the top four with the juries but had a very strong 2nd place with the French public.

Silvan Areg with 'Le Peitit Nicolas' finished in 3rd while Aysat with 'Comme une grande' completed the four through to the final despite finishing last in the French teleovte.

But the one artist everyone will have to beat is Bilal. His emphatic win will make him heavy favourite to take out the whole competition and represent France in Tel Aviv. The song is co-written by the French 2018 Eurovision representatives Madame Monsieur.

The second semi final will take place next Saturday 19 January (French time).
