Christabelle and 'Taboo' will represent Malta at Eurovision

Christabelle has won the Maltese Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) after topping both the international jury and public televote.

With strong staging and solid vocals she won comfortably ahead of runner-ups Richard & Joe with 'Song for Dad' and Brooke Borg with "Heart of Gold' in 3rd.

One of the pre-contest favourite Eleanor and 'Back to Life' finished 5th.

This was Christabelle's fourth attempt of making Eurovision and she was understandably very emotional after her win.

She had previously finished 2nd (2015), 4th (2016) and 8th (2014) at MESC.

Her song was co-written by Thomas G:son who will have his 14th song at Eurovision. He wrote 2012 winner 'Euphoria'.
