The new Netflix Eurovision film has a title and a song!

Today we have got the first taste of what to expect from the new Eurovision Netflix comedy film!!

So the film is called ‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’, and along with that we were gifted with a new song by the Netflix Eurovision gods!

The song is called ‘Volcano Man’ and falls into the more kitsch side of the Eurovision spectrum with a very Nordic schlager flavour!

The song is sung by Will Farrell and My Marianne and has been written and produced by Christian Persson and Gustaf Holter, released through Arista Records.

Both songwriters and producers have collaborated before for Alex Aris, Steerner and Lisa Ajax. A couple years ago the duo had joined Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia.

The upcoming film is directed by David Dobkin, who has previously directed Shanghai Knights which starred Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson and Wedding Crashers which featured Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. The film has been written by Will Ferrell and Andre Steele.

The story is about two Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir who get an opportunity of a lifetime to represent Iceland the the Eurovision Song Contest. Filming had begun last year in the United Kingdom and Iceland.

The film stars Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, Pierce Brosnsan, Dan Stevens and Demi Lovato.

‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’ was set to premiere at the same time as the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. But since the Covid-19 pandemic and cancellation of Eurovision the release has been pushed back.

Over night Will Ferrell revealed on the Graham Norton Show that the film will be released through the streaming service Netflix from June 26!!
