Eurovision fan of the day - Sadie from the UK

What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Sadie, and I am from a small-ish town called Bridgwater in the UK Tell us something interesting about yourself? I am a journalist for another Australian Eurovision site, ESCDaily! And I am also a youth Women’s officer in the UK Labour party, if you want to know anything about UK or Ukrainian politics, I am your girl!

Always love anyone politically engaged - well done! ~ Aussievision When did you first get into Eurovision?

Late 90s, probably 97, all I remember when I was young then were people around me making a huge deal out of Katrina winning for the UK What is your favourite Eurovision year and why?

It is a toss up between 2 years, 2005 and 2017, because they were both hosted in the same city, KIEV!

We are sensing a theme here! Which Eurovision song: Is your favourite?

Wild Dances by Ruslana

Cracking song - her live performance was brilliant. Is overrated?

Believe by Dima Bilan

I respectfully disagree.... *twirls around on iceskates* - Mike Was robbed?

7th Wonder by Ira Losco Had the best live performance?

Molitva by Marija Serifovic

Wonderful live, great vocal, great look, deserved winner

Did you last play?

Taboo by Christabelle Is your guilty pleasure?

Dum Tek Tek by Hadise

That is not a guilty pleasure, that is brilliant! Is the favourite from your own country?

Making your Mind up by Bucks Fizz (going to see 3 of the original line up in a pride festival this summer)

Iconic! Any other interesting honourable mentions?

Haba Haba by Stella Mwangi as that was the first time Swahili was sung in the contest Do you have a favourite Eurovision country?

It is always a flip between Malta and Ukraine

What are you favourite songs so far in the 2018 contests?

Norway, France, Australia, Spain and Malta

Some fine choices there, especially one of them :P What do you think of Australia being in Eurovision?

As they are an associate member, and a close commonwealth partner to the United Kingdom, I think it is awesome that Australia are in the contest, and I hope they remain a part of it for as long as possible. It is amazing to have the UK, Malta and Australia as commonwealth nations as well as European nations in the contest. What do you think of our song 'We Got Love' and Jessica Mauboy?

Love it! It screams summer anthem. It is already on my summer playlist And finally favourite Australian song – Sea of Flags, Tonight Again, Sound of Silence or Don’t Come Easy?

Sound of Silence by far. Dami Im owned that stage and her vocals were absolutely incredible. Anything else you’d like to share?

Shout out to Brooke from Malta! You don’t get many genuine and friendly artists who take care of their fans in the way that she has taken care of me.

She obviously has a heart of gold!

Thanks so much for your time Sadie!!
