Five artists shortlisted in the German national final for Junior Eurovision 2021
The five artists who have been shortlisted for ‘Junior ESC – Who’s going to Paris?’ for Germany have been announced.
The five acts were preselected by a jury of music professionals.
The public have until August 1 to vote for their favourite candidate at kika.de, where the top three artists will go on to perform in the live casting show on 10 September in the city of Erfurt.
The two songs that can be chosen from to represent the nation at Junior Eurovision in Paris have already been composed, and will be presented during the show. Each of the three finalists will sing both songs, and online voting will determine both the song and the candidate for the contest.
10-year-old Marta comes from Bad Salzuflen in North Rhine-Westphalia. She loves performing, singing, and dancing, and choir and jazz dance have been an integral part of her weekly schedule. She cites her singing teacher as her role model.
11-year-old Anjali comes from Eschborn in Hessen. She sings like Ariana Grande, and, according to her friends, looks like her too. When she isn’t performing with the choir or at parties, Anjali is a horse-lover, and a real lover of nature.
11-year-old Yike comes from Berlin and is already used to standing in front of large audiences. He sings in the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir, and in the children’s choir of the comic opera. He is passionate about piano and guitar, and cites Michael Jackson as one of his personal favourite musicians.
12-year-old Pauline comes from Nähe von Koblenz in Rheinland-Pfalz. She plays the drums, and her other hobbies include playing the piano and theatre games. She has also already won several prizes at ‘Jugend musiziert’.
13-year-old Emilie comes from Homburg in Saarland. She plays the trumpet and the cornet (a type of horn). She has cited her role models as Adele and Taylor Swift, and even started her own youth band.
