The artist: Luna

Luna Sabella, known as just Luna, is a Dutch singer whose father is half-Italian. She was born on July 9, 2010 in Belfeld, a small village in the Limburg region.

Luna was part of the talent class at the Babette Labeij Musical Academy and participated in the 11th season of 'The Voice Kids'. She has her own personal YouTube channel, which at the time of this writing, garnered 17,717 views and gained a following of 484 subscribers.

The entry: 'La Festa'

At the 'Junior Songfestival 2022', the Dutch Junior Eurovision National Final, Luna received all "12 points" from the children's jury, professional jury, and televote, winning her the ticket to Yerevan with 36 points, 6 points ahead of its runner-up, Mixed Up.

'La Festa' is written and composed by Robert Dorn. He has worked on Julia van Bergen’s song 'Around' and Unity’s 'Best Friend'. 'La Festa' means the party in Italian and the song itself also has some Italian words in it.

Aussievision team ranking

The Aussievision team have voted for their top 10 favourite Junior Eurovision 2022 songs from 12 points to 1 point.

They have ranked the Netherlands as their 6th favourite song from this years Junior Eurovision!

Comments from the Aussievision team

"The Dutch always get it right, but this year Luna has taken it to another level! 'La Festa' as a studio track is great fun but the staging and charisma that shines throughout makes this a standout performance and a definite contender for the trophy." ~ Cooper

"I thought after Maléna that JESC was beginning to turn into “Young Adult Eurovision”, but this song perfectly reminds us what Junior is all about. Luna is an energetic performer with great, tasteful dance moves, and the song is catchy and age appropriate. I love the Dutch language and it has enough English (and Italian?) so everyone can sing along with it; a great combination of melody and build. Just the best overall package and a win would be a great reward for consistency and attention to JESC for the Netherlands." ~ Hugo

The Netherlands at Junior Eurovision

To date, the Netherlands is the only country to have taken part in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, since it began in 2003. Although it has hosted Junior Eurovision twice, back in 2007 in Rotterdam and in 2012 in Amsterdam, it has won the Contest once.

The Dutch won Junior Eurovision in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach performing 'Click Clack. In 2011, the country narrowly missed out on the trophy to Georgia when Rachel performed 'Teenager'. The Netherlands has finished in 4th place on three occasions, in 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Junior Eurovision 2022 will be held in Yerevan on December 11, 2022 (December 12, 2022 in Australia).
