Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2024 semi-final 1 results

This morning, Icelandic Eurovision broadcaster RÚV held semi-final 1 of their national final Söngvakeppnin 2024.

The two acts advancing directly to the Final are:

Væb – 'Bíómynd'

Anita – 'Stingum af'

Not directly advancing to the Final are:

CeaseTone – 'Ró'

Blankiflúr – 'Sjá þig'

Sunny – 'Fiðrildi'

One of the entries not directly advancing to the Final may have a second chance, if the contest organisers opt to choose a fifth song to compete in the Final. This will be decided after the conclusion of the semi-final 2.

Semi-final 2 of Söngvakeppnin 2024 will take place on Sunday February 25 (Australian time) at 6.45am ADST with the Final to be held on Sunday March 03 (Australian time).

Iceland is the only Nordic country that has not won the Eurovision Song Contest. They have competed 35 times since their debut in 1986. Iceland's best result are two second-place finishes with Selma in 1999 with 'All Out of Luck' and Yohanna in 2009 with 'Is It True?'. Last year Iceland was represented by Diljá with 'Power' which failed to advance to the final.
