Georgia in Eurovision
Georgia debuted in Eurovision back in 2007, and have qualified for the grand final on seven occasions in their history, failing to make the grand final on five occasions.
Georgia received their best ever results at Eurovision in 2010 and 2011. In 2010, they were represented by Sopho Nizharadze’s ‘Shine’, which finished in 9th place with a total of 136 points. In 2011, they were represented by the group Eldrine and their song ‘One More Day’, which also finished in 9th place, this time with 110 points.

About the artist
33-year-old Tornike Kipiani, was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Tornike is a father to three children, who rose to fame in Georgia through his participation in the reality singing competition ‘X Factor Georgia’ in 2014, which he won. Throughout his time on the show, Tornike’s mentor was the then-future Cypriot Eurovision representative Tamta.
Tornike then went on to compete in the 2019 edition of ‘Georgian Idol’, which he also won. ‘Georgian Idol’ was used by Georgian Eurovision broadcaster GPB as an artist selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Tornike’s song for Eurovision 2020 was internally chosen to be ‘Take Me As I Am’, and he was then internally selected to represent the country again for the 2021 contest.
About the song
‘You’ is written and composed by Tornike Kipiani himself, which some assistance with arranging the song by Aleko Berdzenishvili.
‘You’ also features the voices of the Gori Girls’ Choir, Aleko Berdzenishvili, Marian Shengelia, and Mariko Lezhava, and the music video features ballet dancer Mariam Aleksidze.
