Elisa wins Portugal's 'Festival da Canção 2020'

The last of the 2020 national selection finals, Festival da Canção has been run and won with Elisa emerging as victorious with 'Medo de Sentir' (Fear of Feeling). Bárbara Tinoco and Felipe Sambado finished second and third respectively. Elisa will now represent Portugal in Rotterdam in May. Unlike the semi finals, the winner of the final was determined differently. Although the final score was determined by 50%/50% jury and public televotes, each of the 7 regions (North, Central, Lisbon and Tagus Valley, Algarve, Açores, Madeira and Alentejo) submitted their jury votes and the points were distributed accordingly for the final jury score. Felipe Sambado scored well with the juries, earning 5 sets of 12 points with Madeira and Alentejo giving 10 and 6 votes respectively. Elisa and Kady rounding up the top 3. Elisa finished second in the televote too with the favourite Bárbara Tinoco taking out the 12 points. Filomena Cautela who co-hosted the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, co-hosted this year's final alongside fellow Portuguese media identity, Vasco Palmeirim. Inés Lopes Gonçalves was again presenting from the green room as she did at the semi finals. 2019 Festival da Canção entrant, Surma featured in the interval act entertainment.
