Dami Im is back with her new single Crying Underwater

Eurovision Song Contest 2016 runner up and former X Factor winner Dami Im is back with her new single release, ‘Crying Underwater’.

It has been three years since Dami’s last solo single ‘Fighting for Love’ which was released in October 2016 after her Eurovision journey earlier that year. ‘Fighting for Love’ won over Eurovision fans having taken out the top spot in the 2017 OGAE Song Contest, which is a song contest organised annually by the official Eurovision Song Contest fan club. She is the first Australian to win that Contest.

Earlier this year she amazed us with an acoustic performance of ‘Sound of Silence’ at Eurovision - Australia Decides - Gold Coast 2019. She also performed her song ‘Dreamer’ from her ‘Live Sessions - EP’ released in January 2019 which features live acoustic versions of selected songs. She also announced her national 'Dreamer Tour’ which is still running, travelling to capital cities and regional areas across the country.

For those of you who would love to see Dami represent Australia again at Eurovision, she had this to say in a recent interview with The Daily Edition:

"I have people ask me all the time to do Eurovision again - but I'm not too sure… It was such an intense experience, and it was so tough. It was so much fun, but it was so tough. I'm not totally opposed to doing again, but I'd have to have a really good song and lots of energy, and do lots of pilates beforehand or something. I’ve been touring mostly in Australia, but I've had fans fly into my shows from all over Europe and America because of Eurovision.”

Her new single, Crying Underwater, was produced by Andy Mak, and co-written by Dami Im together with Michael Tan and is about ones inner-struggles and living day-to-day while masking your emotions. On her website Dami explains further:

“Mike & I were reflecting about how hard it is for so many people to actually open up about their mental struggles and how easy it is to assume someone is okay when they’re not.”
