The first national final of the 2021 season has been completed and Anxhela Peristeri has won the Albanian national final Festivali i Këngës 59 (FiK).
Her song 'Karma' was a surprise winner ahead of Sardi Strugaj and Festina Mejzini.
FiK was held outside for the first time due to COVID-19 which also saw no live orchestra used.
An interval act of note was Australian band 'Mixed Up Everything' who got caught in Albania during COVID-19 and have stayed in the country since.
The winner of FiK goes on to represent Albania at Eurovision.
No news yet if Karma will remain in Albanian (all songs at FiK must be performed in the language) or if it will be changed to English like 'Shaj' last year from Arilena Ara which changed to 'Fall from the Sky'.
