Which country googled Eurovision the most?

The end of the year brings out many things, Christmas, Festivali i Këngës and a whole lot of interesting data from search and social channels on what we've all been doing this year.

We took a look at the data to see just which country is obsessed with Eurovision the most. Based on search volume (and per capita) that nation is.....

ICELAND!

Iceland pipped Malta this year and surprisingly for top search results... neither nation made the Eurovision Grand Final. With results done per capita they were helped by their small population however we can cast no doubt over their Eurovision obsession.

Big changes were:

*Following their win Portugal went from 41st to 12th

*Moldova climbed from 10th to 3rd following their successful podium finish in the competition.

*After bouncing back from missing the final in 2016, Greece jumped from 12th to 6th.

*Sweden dropped from 4th to 8th, no doubt influenced from their hosting in 2016

*Russia's absence saw them turn off from Eurovision, dropping from 13th to 37th

*Australia only dropped slightly - falling two spots from 37th to 39th

And we also had a look at cities with Iceland get a double win with Reyjkjavik going back to back from 2016 to 2017. Despite Spain's poor performance their cities rose this year (helped by their selection controversy) and in good news for Australia two cities made the list with Melbourne (48th) winning the rivalry over Sydney (50th).
